Angelika Lepper was born in Munich in 1971. She studied Media Art at the State University for Design in Karlsruhe, Germany. She has been working as DJ Acid Maria since 1992 as well as producing in varying collaborations. She has played throughout the whole of Europe, in Mexico, the USA, in Japan and in Russia.
In 1999 she began making her own video works and documentaries. Her video-installation "ts hoch drei" was nominated as best German music video at the Short Film Festival in 2004 in Oberhausen. Her film "freakshow no 150" appeared on DVD on Gigolo Records. She has been a lecturer at the University for Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg since 2004. At present she is also a visiting professor for experimental television at the Bauhaus-University in Weimar.
