"Drama" is the second release on Alex Smoke's Hum+Haw label. Following on from the demented techno of his own "Vaporub EP" he returns with a completely new project and proposition...FOOL.
FOOL is the moniker for his intrepid collaboration with Shadowhuntaz MC Non. The two have conjoined across continents to forge a potent brace which fuses Smoke's crushing production with Non's foreboding, socio-conscious vocal delivery.
The spawn of their work is the album "Mad Man's Drum", which is due for release on Hum+Haw this summer. Both Alex and Non share the same political beliefs and the album is a vehicle for them to express their views without reproach. The moniker Fool is relevant to the perception of the project as Alex explains... "The fool was traditionally the only member of court who could tell the king the truth, despite his low status."
"Drama" is the first single from the album and is an outlet for Non's vent at the daily grind to establish a better place in his life through music. The powerful lyrics are bolstered with Alex Smoke's future hip hop, beat construction.
This killer package includes a devastating array of remixes from maverick b-boy bampots Rustie, Chris De Luca V Phon.O as well as a slaughtered technoid interpretation from forthcoming Hum+Haw artists Name+Relucto. Fellow Glaswegian Rustie continues to astonish with his berserk beat machinations and with ‘Drama’ he dices the original into a bleep show while maintaining the full lyrical flow.
Next Ex-Funkstörung member Chris De Luca and partner in musical mischief Phon.O get on board for crunkin' CLP boom-down, again with the rampant rhyme in full effect. Name+Relucto mutate the original into a demented slice of schizoid techno that will keep the dancefloor exultant. This promo CD includes both Clean Version and Instrumental.
