ITALIC would like to announce two fantastic great new super-funky minimal
discofied electronic dance remixes for HAMILTON - the original version is
taken from ANTONELLI's new SOULKILLER album.
The remix on side A refers to U.S. House Music from the 80s and funk music
from New York-based New Wave bands such as Liquid Liquid or ESG.
ANTONELLI's new remix version combines these two music styles and turns them
into funky, dirty sounds which are irresistibly danceable, highly
imaginative, and tremendously emotional.
And the remix on the flipside comes from SECONDO - producer and founder of
minimal house label Dreck Records. SECONDO’s discofied cut-up funky
electronic dance music has been appearing sporadically on Soul Jazz Records
since 2003 and has been releasing music on his own Dreck Records since 2000.
Departing from existing popular songs of various origins, SECONDO cuts his
source material carefully into minute fragments in order to compose entirely
new pieces of music somehow maintainig the atmosphere of the original, but
shifting away from it structurally and rhythmically far beyond the
boundaries of editing.

Just Drifting is an unusual and beautiful study of rhythmical patterns renouncing the use of the bass drum almost entirely. It evokes the work of Classical American Minimalists (or West African drumming respectively) and pays tribute to the concept of the phase shift.
In true Antonelli style the tracks are built from warm and organic synth sounds, which for this release are sequenced in ever revolving loops, syncopating one another and creating a multitude of rhythm patterns. The resulting four tracks on this EP are a stunning body of work, which Dreck Records is very proud to be releasing.

ITALIC would like to announce ANTONELLI's new album "Soulkiller". It is Stefan Schwander's aka ANTONELLI's 6th album and was produced using analogue drum machines, synthesizers and sequencers only and recorded live without any overdubs onto an old-school TAPE recorder.
The result is amazing: ANTONELLI's House music on "Soulkiller" is so incredibly rough and emotional that it reminds of the Garage Rock from the "Stooges". And the tracks sound as if "ESG" was doing cover versions of "Moodymann".
Moreover, you will find flamboyant Pop references, from "Bohannon" to "Terry Hall". The first single release taken from this album is the track "Hamilton" and comes in the original version and in a remix
version.
