Michel Baumanns BlackBox Album is a Collection of Tracks that he produced under his Jackmate moniker between 1996-2006. So, see this as a kind of Anniversary!..;-)
Michel keeps it simple but effective ....less should be more! While the first record contains jackin' trackworks, like "The Walls" and "Jackmoves", the remastered classic "Scattered Brains" from 2002 and the tribal-driven "Dynasty", the second Vinyl goes deeper and breaks up the measurements....
Jazzparticles, Acoustic-Drums and Modular-Sequences collide in "Jealousy", and a computer crashed during a session to provide "Malfunktion".
"Fieldtrip" starts with some excursions into GrainClouds but speeds up to become a dub monster, the live-excerpt "Mentally Disturbed" strucks the roof on fire and might kill some speakers, while "Booth" perfectly finishes with it's IDM-breaks and chords from beyond!
